Million-dollar order for industrial automation company Mesken Haule

For the third time in a short time Mesken Haule drags in a large order. This time it is a multi-million order from the Australian Oreco Group. The family business from Oosterwolde is supplying a complete, custom-made packaging line for de-dusting, packing and stacking sugar cane bales.

“This order means a lot to us,” says managing director Henk Mesken. “It confirms once again that international market leaders rely on our knowledge, quality and customized solutions.”

The award of the contract by Australia’s Oreco Group is without doubt a new boppeslach for Mesken Haule, with an average annual turnover of 3 million euros.

“This is more than a commercial boost,” says Henk Mesken. “Above all, it is a form of recognition. Recognition for the hard work my parents put in for years. They have put their heart and soul into this family business – this assignment feels like a tribute to their commitment and perseverance.”

Mesken exports worldwide

A family business since the 1980s, Mesken Haule has developed into a leading specialist in the development and production of balers and packing machines. With customized solutions for natural fibers and various waste materials, the company supplies complete production lines for wood shavings, sawdust, hay, straw, hemp, flax, fiberglass and glass wool, among others.

“We export about 85% of our machines worldwide,” says Henk Mesken. “Our customers operate in the agricultural sector, the recycling industry and the production of natural insulation materials – and consciously choose our experience, service and reliable quality.”

Custom made

From Canada and the United States to Australia and Japan – all over the world, customers rely on Mesken Haule’s expertise. “In this niche market, everyone knows us,” says Henk Mesken proudly. “There are only a handful of true specialists worldwide, and we are among those top ones. With years of experience in packaging and processing natural products, we provide customized solutions that perfectly meet our customers’ needs. Every machine is unique – from the very first design to commissioning. That’s where we make the difference.

The Oreco Group

Mesken Haule has a lot of experience with the Australian product sugarcane. That explains why the Oreco Group placed this large order with Mesken Haule. Upon request, Mesken himself recently traveled to Australia to lend his ear and discuss ideas with Paul Woosley, director of the Oreco Group. “We made a proposal that was immediately well received. In addition, we were chosen because our machines are progressive and easy to maintain. Also, our double machine is more favorably priced than two single machines.”

Recruiting new staff

A complete packaging line in production? That means plenty of work. The entire line is first drawn out in detail and then custom-made in our factory in Oosterwolde. Then everything will travel to Down Under in some 15 sea containers. Mesken: “We aim to have everything ready within a year. That will be exciting, but with the new talent we will be hiring, we are confident that it will succeed!”

Service and maintenance

Of course, Mesken himself, along with a few colleagues, also travels to Australia as the company installs the line completely. “We just want to deliver quality and provide excellent service. Our reputation is exactly why customers choose us and stay with us. Our very first customer is still a customer almost four decades later. Service and maintenance after installation are just as important to us. We ensure that the packaging line continues to run optimally so that our customers can continue to produce without worry. That commitment makes all the difference.”
